ULYSSES CLUB, YARRA RANGES BRANCH – CORONAVIRUS UPDATE 11:

From the President:

I am sure most of you know by now that Brunch will be reopening from Tuesday the 9th of June. I have confirmed with Ken they will be open on Saturdays for meals and take-aways for patrons including Ulysses Club members.

Brunch Café can have 20 patrons inside their premises for dine-in services but limits on entry comply with the density requirements allowed within a single space – one customer per four square metres. Contact details (Name & phone number) are required to be obtained for every customer to assist in rapid contact tracing.

As at June 22nd., numbers will increase to 50 patrons per enclosed space however the restriction of one customer per four square metres will still apply.

No one wants to get hit with an on the spot fine of up to $1,652 for failing to comply with the emergency directions but as Restrictions have been eased and we have been permitted to get out a little more, I have observed people’s perception of “Social Distancing”. Some have no concept of the 1.5 metre distancing rule, with people shaking hands, hugging and even some kissing.

Most of our Ulysses members have either pre-existing medical conditions or are in that age group that makes them vulnerable, so they must be aware of the need to distance themselves from others to reduce any risk.

It is a personal decision for members to attend at Brunch and it will be their personal responsibility to behave in accordance with Government Restrictions, personal hygiene requirements and Social Distancing rules.

Positive COVID-19 cases continue to be detected with Overseas travellers, Emergency / Essential Workers, and others because of Cluster identification remaining the majority of those detected.

Some diagnosed with COVID-19 have suffered varied yet minor symptoms. Random Testing has identified low positives which means Community Contacts remain low however as positives are still being detected, COVID-19 remains within our Community.

WARNING: The Coronavirus Pandemic has not been eradicated in Victoria and is still with us. So, be aware of your Social Distancing and Stay Safe.
