Re: Update on my broke Harley
Sorry to hear it's going to be such an expensive fix and although we have known Creswick has been in the wind for some time now, you WILL be missed . But of course, you know where to go every time you're this neck of the woods . Give our love to Susanne for us and we'll see you and hopefully both of you, when we next have that good fortune.

Re: Update on my broke Harley
Hi SED1
My first post so am a little nervous dont want to offend anyone or other
Re Harley simple as this knackers should have bought two ....................one for parts
Beautiful bike/truck to ride so I am disapointed that you have been disapointed
Of course if you need assistance with storage handling etc etc of the Harley it is always welcome here
Happy to hear that you have moved to Creswick which would imply that Boronia is now a far safer community to live in

Update on my broke Harley
You may have noticed that I haven't been around much lately, partly due to a move to Creswick but mainly due to a broken bike............
After attending the AGM in Alice Springs I continued on to Darwin with Bob's group, and got back as far as Katherine where my bike was making some very ominous(expensive) noises after an hours ride at 130kph. The bike was transported back to Melbourne, and this week was stripped down.
The initial failure was a cam lifter/roller which has flattened and then let go, sending metal fragments in to the oil pump, destroying it . The contaminated oil has also stuffed the crank, and numerous other components. Basically it's an 8K + repair job.
On the bright side, stripping the motor down has revealed a fault where there wasn't enough clearance between the valve springs and the head casing, which explains an annoying ticking noise the bike had from 3,000 rpm.
Matthew from Rosnar Racing is rebuilding the motor with a few mods, and the CVO will be back on the road soon stronger, faster and louder than ever....if I can still afford to put some fuel in it after the rebuild I will be at Brunch very soon. regards Steve
