Point Nepean - Ride Report - Peter Ross (Ride Leader) Empty Point Nepean - Ride Report - Peter Ross (Ride Leader)

On a cloudy sunday morning 15 brave souls (and Phill) set out on our journey to Portsea. We enjoyed beautiful riding conditions thru Rowville, Lysterfield, Narre Warren, Berwick, Clyde, Cannons Creek, Pearcedale thru to Hastings where we bumped into our very own Chris & Garry Wood upon our arrival at Maccas for coffee.

After our break the weather gods started to smile at us as we headed further towards the deep south. There are some lovely spots to coffee, luncheon, picnic or whatever, all a relatively short distance from our home base to keep in mind now summer is here.

Anyway we progressed without incident to Bittern, Balnarring and headed quietly into Flinders where as ride leader I felt a round of golf and some fresh sea air may be beneficial for the brethren. The first 8 of us travelled slowly around the golf course taking in the magnificent views the course has to offer. Sadly some of the group appeared to have an aversion to golf and headed off directly to Portsea, whilst the body of the group waited patiently for their safe arrival. We did our best, some searching whilst attempting to contact T.E.C. to locate the lost souls, all to no avail. Eventually our top detective (The Fonz) managed to track down Phill (TEC), who had safely arrived at Pt Nepean....

We headed off down Cape Shanck Road to reform our group. Seriously the bloke who built that road MUST have been a motorcyclist! How good is THAT road?

Anyway we were all reunited safely at Pt Nepean where we had a relaxed lunch, afterwards some chose to inspect the quarnatine station and others took the bus to inspect the Fort. As time was passing and we all had very different destinations homewards we all went out seperate ways around 3pm after an interesting and entertaining day.

Many thanks to the organisers, TEC Phill and all the participants on what turned out to be another memorable and different ride!

Our Arrival @ Pt Nepean!

Notice FRONT end Charley got the BEST parking spot, AWAY from the riff raff (including me), who eventually caught him....

PS.  WE MIGHT CONSIDER MAKING IT BRANCH POLICY THAT TAIL END CHARLIE ARRIVES AT THE DESTINATION FIRST .. JUST TO
CHECK OUT CONDITIONS AND AWAIT THE SAFE ARRIVAL OF THE RIDE LEADER AND THE REST OF THE GROUP.
