Ride to Marysville 17/6/20
Today's ride was a beauty. Broken cloud with a bit of sun brings out the best in people. We left brunch with 19 riders and pillions, and picked up the Fonze at Lilydale Lake on the way to Yarra Glen.
We lost John and Gill soon after when their Spider must have ridden through a Covid Mortein cloud and went into "limp mode". Ah for the good old days when they just broke down.
When we called past Yarra Glen we found a few more riders. Tony, Gary, Bernie and Ann, followed soon after by Peter. We headed up North and turned onto Break O' Day road, where we added Christine. Soon we found a few sections of road works and it was a bit muddy in places, but I'm not washing any bikes so please don't ask.
After a short stop in Yea, we headed out to Molesworth and then turned right onto one of my favourite bike roads, the unpronounceable Whanregarwen road. Easier to just call it by its other name, 'Lose your licence rd", where we let the bikes enjoy the big sweepers with hardly another soul on the road. Another right turn and down the highway to Marysville.
As the numbers were higher than expected, we split into smaller groups and spread the lunching around the town. Heading home after lunch a few of us enjoyed a final coffee at the Beachworth Bakery.
A top day!
Thanks to all who came and to Ian who did the TEC and photo duties.
