Battle of Long Tan Service
Last Sunday, (August 18th)) 12 of us had a great ride down to Longwarry. We managed to dodge the showers, but had to put up with the strong headwind...I heard one member say "just ride at an angle, don't fight it!" That's fine in theory, but telling our heads that is a different matter, we chose to fight it. There was a small shower prior to the very moving service, and a touch of rain on the way home. The Vets put on a great day, and were most appreciative of our attendance. Zenny, a newish member to Yarra Ranges (ex Melbourne and Geelong) brought along a spray of gum leaves and gum nuts tied with the correct colours of the Vets--this was laid along with all the other wreathes. Someone suggested that we should make this an annual ride.
Cheers, Wrecksy.
