Harrietville Weeekend Ride Sat.16th of March Casbak Alpine Units
Ride Leader: Jack W.
Tail Ender: Rex R.
We started off at 8am. from Yarra Glen park, the weather looking anything but inviting with a forecast of possible sleet on Sunday in Harrietville.
12 bikes all up; some on their +++++ ride others on their first weekend away.
Great riding this time of the morning, nothing much on the road so we made Yea/Bonnie Doon/Glenrowan in good time and no rain. The weather started to improve by Glenrowan so off came the layers and straight through to Harrietville. Our hosts Neene & Ed were terrific providing parking for our bikes in a large double shed; first class. A typical Ulysses afternoon spent socialising at the local cafes & watering holes then back to our accommodatio; " the lodge" being the choice pick with bedrooms/bathrooms/lounge areas to die for.You could really spread out here in true Ulysses style; hence another weekend was booked for 15th/16th & 17th. of November ( our host Neene suggested a BBQ tea on the Friday night down by the river which she will organise and on Saturday night tea at the pub and Neene will organise a band for the night; Woo Hoo ......Dose'nt get much better than that, you won't want to miss this one).
Our Saturday night was enjoyed by all down at the local pub with lots of thirst quenching & chin wagging; stumps saw Roger, Chris, Rikki and myself dawdling home on the very peaceful streets of Harrietville. Sunday morning we all enjoyed a fabulous breakfast of bacon n' eggs with plenty of toast n' jam cooked by our hosts. Delicious !!!! We were all very happy and very very full & it was sunny.
Thank you to Jack for a great weekend away and to Rex for being our tail ender.
Cheers Bee
PS More information to follow re: w/end in November.
