Lakes Entrance ride - the Lowdown
Thanks Bruce for organising and leading a great weekend ride. Your local knowledge really showed when we explored some great back roads.
The trip to Licola yesterday was a first for Ann and myself, great riding with fantastic views, especially of the McAllister River valley.
Thanks also to Ron and Chris for their dedication as TECs, and to the rest of the group for making it an all round good weekend.

Re: Lakes Entrance ride - the Lowdown...
It WAS a great weekend and a great ride.
Your post raises in a public forum why you found yourself at Glenmaggie weir separated from the Ride. I won't go in to details here although I am happy to discuss it person to person. But you were safe and your bike was okay. TEC had to make a decision between staying with you or leaving corner markers in 30oC+ heat for potentially an hour while you sorted out your final issue that morning. I endorse the decision he made and as stated before, I am happy to discuss it further privately.

Re: Lakes Entrance ride - the Lowdown...
From what I've heard, this weekend had it all, starting with some low level flying at Scoresby.
Nothing like a weekend filled with drama, speed, a few getting lost, dirt and bitumen, on top of
food, fun and great company. Looking forward to hearing a bit more about it.

Lakes Entrance ride - the Lowdown...
Bruce and Sue,
Many thanks for organising the Lakes Entrance ride.
This one had everything and a bit more!!
Awesome bike roads tick, Ulysses company tick, great food and drink spots tick. An injured baby wombat rescue by Greg and June. Little bugger thanked them.by leaving two fragrant pressie?!? In Greg's panniers!!
Everybody riding like cut cats on the big sweepers and straights on the highway out to Buchan.
An unitended side trip by me to the folks at Glen Maggie winery ( up their treacherous hilly gravel drive!! they offered me bacon & eggs they were cooking brekkie!! I declined that but gratefully accepted an iced water then they drew me a map so I could get back to rest of our group and said "yep if u wait at Glen Maggie caravan park you can't miss them as they must go back that way from Licola. Unfortunately that was NOT TRUE!! I waited a good 2 hours in the summer heat and everybody had gone a back way and then I was playing catch up back to Traralgon.
To top it off I couldn't even contact Kev as there was no mobile reception in that whole area!!
Eventually I got to T just as everybody was off again. Never mind it was a nice day for a few side trips!!
A nutty intoxicated lady (braless!! ) who tried to get our room keys off most of us and not for the reason u might think! She took a big shine to Kev (Mr Suzuki)
Pam thought my room was hers and ducked out even quicker than she came in. luckily I had just got dressed!! Big thanks to Kev for leaving the bedroom door unlocked!!
I almost forgot big thanks to Ron and Liz for TEC duties including chasing down the stragglers, oops I mean me!!
