You all know our incredibly good friend and Treasurer, Roger PETRUCCI, well he needs your
help.
Over the past two-years, Roger has been involved with a Ulysses member who has fallen on
tough times due his declining health and lack of family support within Australia. Roger has
gone to great lengths to assist this member in being medically assessed and creating a
planned future for the member. This process has taken countless hours involving medical
practitioners, specialists, authorities, and other Government Agencies. Even though the
members medical condition cannot be reversed, Roger’s actions have enabled the member
to live a comfortable life and maintain good health, as well as providing financial and legal
assistance through My Aged Care and State Trustees.
Your Committee has recognised for some time that Roger although humble and selfless, is
the first in line to give assistance to those members in need. So earlier this year your
Committee nominated Roger for a Westfield Local Hero Award and the Westfield
Knox Group has also recognised his virtues as he has been selected as one of six finalists for
this Award.

Voting opens on the 25th of August for Westfield Local Heroes and concludes on the 14th
September. The outcome of the community vote will determine the final 3 successful
Westfield Local Heroes for Westfield Knox who will each be awarded a grant of $10,000 for
their affiliated organisations to continue their community work.
Roger has requested; if successful, that as well as donations to local charitable organisations
and a branch defibrillator, significant monies be donated to UCARF.
Voting: The community vote for Westfield Local Heroes runs from 25 August to 14
September. We call on all the Ulysses community to support our member.
