Wednesday Ride to Loch, 20 Nov 2019
Report by Ride Leader Ian McKenna
Lunch at Loch Ride - 20th November.
Great Weather, great ride; we started at Brunch Cafe with about 17 riders with Ian McKenna in the lead and John & Gill Ashley as tail riders. We took the Mountain Highway to Sassafras, Perrin's Creek Road and Grantulla Road to Emerald, and Beaconsfield Road to the Pine Grove Hotel where we picked up a rider, and Beaconsfield Upper where we collected a young rider who just happened to see us.
Toomuc Valley Road and the old Princes Highway took us to Longwarry where we stopped again. After a brief rest we rode a back way to Drouin South, and the Main South Road to Topiram and Poowong East. The day was getting hot by now but we surged through Poowong to Loch where we enjoyed lunch at the Olive on Loch Cafe.
A painting contractor thoughtfully cleared the street for us but we had to leave after lunch so they wouldn't paint parking lines over our bikes. We had the back room almost to ourselves and with a bit of a line up we got some very nice food for lunch. We then dispersed about 1.30, but Steve Griffiths led 8 of us via Lang Lang, Bayles and Nar Nar Goon to an afternoon coffee in Emerald at the Village Bakery. This finished a great day.
