PENINSULA TOY RUN - 6 December 2014
For those wishing to go on the Peninsula Toy Run and do not want to travel to Frankston on their own, as usual I will be leaving from the Shell Servo on the corner of Stud and Ferntree Gully Roads at 0730. We will head to Frankston via normal roads (NOT EASTLINK) and we will stop at Langwarren Maccas for some breakfast on the way (if you want some) as there is not much available at the pier. There will be prizes for best dressed riders and bikes as usual. This year there will a special event. A memorial plaque will be unveiled in memory of John Smollens who organized the Toy Runs over the last 10+ years but who unfortunately passed away a week before last years’ run.
Toy run assembly at Frankston Pier commences from 0800 and leaves for Rosebud at 0930 with some Police assistance. Toys (new and unwrapped) and non-perishable foods (or cash) to be delivered to the Salvation Army and “Food For All” at Rosebud High School, where a late morning tea will be served. And I guarantee you won’t need much for lunch afterwards.
After the event, everyone is free to do whatever they like. Some may want to go on a short ride, go do some visiting or just go home. A very rewarding day.
If any queries, contact Henry Rokx on 0418 329 617.
