Some members may not be aware that the Government has a website listing safety recalls for lots of products including cars and motorcycles, at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] (www dot recalls dot gov dot au)
If you click on Cars, boats, bikes, and then on Motorcycles you will be taken to -

For your interest, I have listed below the number of safety recalls from 2012 till October 2014 inclusive, for the major motorcycles manufacturers selling bikes in Australia.
BMW = 11
Harley Davidson = 10
Triumph = 10
Ducati = 9
Kawasaki = 9
Honda = 7
Suzuki = 6
Yamaha = 5

The Recalls website has details of what models were recalled, and if you click on the model it will explain the problem and what you should do about it. If you have bought a second-hand bike, it may pay to check if it was recalled, and if so, has the problem been fixed by the previous owner, or your dealer.

Cheers from Trevor
