VISION IMPAIRED DAY - SANDOWN 2017

Post by JOHN ECKHART (FONZE) on Mon Jun 26 2017, 08:33

In The Driver’s Seat
Overview
"In The Driver's Seat"® is an annual driving event for people who experience a vision impairment.
Ulysses Yarra Ranges, in conjunction with the Lions Club Warrandyte, arrange to take these people, as pillion riders, for a couple of laps around the race track.
This event runs in conjunction with the RACV who supply motor cars for the day.
Homer ( Ed Kuppens) arranges for the riders to be ‘geared up’ with helmets and jackets, and for the pillions to be allocated to a club member for a few laps.
We have been assured that Ulysses Nat Com has a public liability policy to cover such events.
I do not know what insurance applies to ‘bikes’ whilst on the Sandown course.
During a break in proceedings – the track is open for a period of time for our members to complete some laps on their own.
Our members are requested to meet Homer at the course at  9. 00  am.
It is a very well worth while event and the opportunity for an excellent “feel good” for the soul.
Where: Sandown Park, Corner Corrigan Rd and Princes Hwy, Noble Park

When:  Sunday, 2 July 2017.
