Absolutely a brilliant day for all concerned Kev, couldn't have asked for a nicer day, or clearer skies' or better roads and good company!
Corner marking went off well, and all other aspects of the day were fantastic, no doubt a lot of planning went in to making a great day out even better, nicely spaced stops, and good venues with plenty of parking, I can't help but feel sorry for any who couldn't make the ride, I had a terrific time, thanks to all who made it happen.  Regards Mick.

Prez's Poker/Dice Ride Sunday 22 January 2017

Post by K2 on Sun Jan 22 2017, 19:21

Sunday 22 January was a perfect summer day for the Prez’s Poker/Dice Ride with a cool morning rising to about 30 degrees by mid-afternoon. So 41 bikes and 48 people assembled at the Shell servo at Stud/FTG corner and had their first roll of the dice before we headed off to destinations known only to a select few! First stop was Upper Beaconsfield after a squirt through Lysterfield & Harkaway for our second roll. Of course by now the group was awash with hard luck stories and claims of great skill with games of chance, but with 3 rolls to go anything could happen. All aboard and off we went via Emerald to morning tea, a 3rd roll of the dice and a visit to the Gembrook Sunday Market. The humans grazed well on coffee, tea and local produce and a few canny purchases were made (nothing too big!).

The next leg took us up to Launching Place to the fresh fruit & vegetable outlet on the Warburton Highway – what a great piece of road to travel on a motorcycle! The 4th roll took place here amid much scrutiny and then it was off to our pub destination and the final roll! Along Dalry Road, Woori Yallock – Healesville Road, Toollebewong Road and around the Sanctuary into Healesville. Then up Myers Creek Road to the Toolangi Tavern and the final roll before lunch. And a yummy lunch it was too!

The winner was Hansi Nielson with 49, followed by Tom Lacey with 44 and Kevin Willoughby (on 4 wheels) with 43 – while at the other end of the table, Mark Taylor impressed the judges with a score of 28!!

Thanks to my helpers – Bob & Kath as TEC, Ron and Tom as score recorders – a great day.
