Harrietville Ride
11 riders left Yarra Glen park at approx 8.15 am for the ride to Harrietville. Homer(Eduard Kuppens) was our ride leader for the journey, and Jack elected to be soul corner marker? I have to wonder at this decision, as all on the ride knew how to corner mark. We had an uneventful run all the way to Casbak lodge with the exception of a fallen tree across the road about 500 metres short of the lodge, which we were safely directed around.
Our hosts, Neene and Ed prepared a sumptuous BBQ tea and Saturday breakfast ($35.00 for both) and we all had dinner at the pub Saturday night.
Beautiful weather was ours for the whole weekend, Ricci and Graeme visited family on Saturday, while Phil and I rode up to Mt Hotham and Dinner Plain, Hans took himself off to circumnavigate that end of Victoria as he does, Gipp went to Mt Beauty, and yet others of the group rode to Beechworth. Homer, unfortunately was not very well at all and spent most of Saturday afternoon inside resting, fortunately, he was quite able to join us all for dinner. Neene checked in on him during the afternoon and texted Jack and myself as to how he was getting on, they really are excellent hosts.
Sunday saw all of us off at different times, and different ways home, after a light breakfast across the road from Casbak, Hans, Phil and myself travelled home via Whitfield and Mansfield in mostly pleasant weather and so put an end to another great weekend away in good company. Regards Mick. A late omission, I forgot to mention LunchBox was TEC and did a wonderful job. Sorry I left you out Laurie!
