VIETNAM VETERANS DAY RIDE
P.S. To Bernie"s report.
Last night I edited a photo of our members and bikes parked in front of the Centurian Tank,
and added a "best wishes from Yarra Ranges Ulysses", and emailed it to the Secretary of the
Vietnam Vets Association Vic. Branch. I received a genuine thank you back from them today
in appreciation of our time and effort in remembering them.. Fonz.

VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL RIDE TO SEYMOUR 16th August
I am pleased to report an excellent turnout for this ride, with some 18 bikes departing from King Street and a further 3 added at the Yarra Glen Park -unfortunately they had missed the change of venue and departure time. My apologies guys, as I had planned to ride down to the park to check at 9.30 a.m. and got waylaid.
The weather was kind after a foggy start, turning into an almost balmy day, becoming fresh on the higher ranges.
After detouring over Junction hill we then met up with Chris and Gary at the Yea Railway Station comfort stop.
The ride up the Ghin Ghin Road to Highlands and then through to Seymour is always good, if a little bumpy toward the western end in places.
It was great to have some of our members who are Vietnam Veterans along on the ride and who were also mentioned on the Memorial Wall and Pavers, as well as other Yarra Ranges members listed there.
The run home through Strath Creek, Flowerdale and Pheasant Creek was very pleasant, with most farewells at Flying Tarts café Pheasant Creek.
I would like to thank everyone for their support, especially John Eckhart for suggesting the ride and then accompanying me as TEC.
Hopefully some photos will be supplied soon. Bernie
